ARANSAS PASS, Texas — Officers and deputies are evacuating residents in Aransas Pass because of a large brush fire.
The large brush fire is in the area of Johnson Road, Smith Road and Jocelyn Road, all along FM 1069.
The areas of FM 1069 to Bypass 35 on Smith Road, Murphy Road, Jocelyn Road and Johnson Road are all being evacuated at this time.
The Department of Public Safety has FM 1069 at Oak Lane shut down so avoid the area if possible.
Several fire departments are currently working to contain the fire.
