INGLESIDE, Texas — Ingleside police have warned about persons in the area posing as code enforcement officers who are demanding money to clear up bogus code violations they report.

Police say they have received several reports of persons posing as code enforcement officers going to residents in Ingleside and the surrounding area. These persons also are attempting to access personal information from those they are preying upon.

The accused persons have been reported operating a white SUV and a white Crown Victoria with black San Patricio County markings on the side.

The Ingleside Police Department is working with its own Code Enforcement office as well as the San Patricio County Sheriff's Office to identify and capture these impostors.

Police say if you see or have seen these vehicles, or have been approached by these impostors, please contact the Ingleside Police Department immediately.

And if you do not recognize the person at your door, police warn to not answer it -- and most importantly do not provide your personal information. Ingleside police say the city's code enforcement officers will never come to your residence asking for money to clear up violations.
