High speed chase ended in major crash

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — UPDATE: According to witnesses, the suspect was jumping fences in a neighborhood about a mile away from the crash.

The man was arrested at the 4400 block of Ramsey Street.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A high speed chase that started in Portland ended with a grinding crash in a Corpus Christi neighborhood.

Officers with the Portland Police Department said the pursuit began just after 11:30 a.m. today.

Police say the suspect's vehicle was traveling close to 100 mph at one point.

Near the intersection of Ayers and Gollihar, the suspects hit a bystander's vehicle. Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department were called to the scene to help out officers with the Portland Police Department.

One of the victims was treated for injuries at the scene, The suspect fled.
