CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The flu season officially starts in October, which starts next week.
Federal health officials warn this flu season is shaping up to be a nasty one.
But what are local doctors saying?
The flu season usually peaks in February.
But a spokesperson for the Corpus Christi Medical Center says although the start of the season is still days away, there have already been confirmed cases of the flu in the area.
Doctors there and the Center for Disease Control are also warning everyone six months or older to get the flu shot.
If you get the flu, this will help you have less severe symptoms.
So today, I’ll be speaking to local doctors before the start of what they say could be a severe season.
That full story will appear tonight on KRIS 6 News.
