A collision between two 18-wheelers has forced the closure of a portion of Highway 361 east of Gregory.

The crash happened on Spur 202 and HIghway 361 around 2:30 p.m. near the TEDA TPCO America plant.

According to Sgt. Nathan Brandley of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the driver of an 18-wheeler was on Spur 202 when he failed to yield the right of way to traffic on Highway 361. The driver then t-boned another 18-wheeler that was carrying diesel fuel.

No one was injured in the accident, but the collision caused the truck to spill diesel fuel onto the roadway.

Several environmental crews are now in the area and have shut down that intersection in order to clean up the fuel.

Once the investigation is over, the DPS says citations will be given out.

Meanwhile, there's no word on when the intersection will reopen.
