Free soil testing kits available for residents

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Have you ever wondered whats in your soil? You aren't the only one.

The City’s Stormwater Division, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Center, and the Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries Program want to know what is in your soil as well. They want to test your soil for possible contaminants that could end up in our bays.

The kits are first come first serve and can be found at any of these locations, while supplies last:

  • Bay Area Landscape Nursery, 5902 S. Staples St, Corpus Christi
  • City Hall, Information Booth (First Floor), 1201 Leopard St, Corpus Christi
  • City of Corpus Christi Water Utilities Bldg. 2726 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi
  • Ethel Eyerly Senior Center, 654 Graham Rd, Corpus Christi
  • Gill’s Landscape Nursery, 2810 Airline Rd, Corpus Christi
  • Owen R. Hopkins Public Library, 3202 McKinzie, Corpus Christi
  • South Texas Botanical Gardens, 8545 S Staples St, Corpus Christi
  • Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, 710 E Main St Ave, Suite 1, Robstown
  • Turner’s Gardenland, 6503 S. Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi

The kits will be tested at Texas A&M University-College Station and the results will be emailed to you.
