CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — High school students in Flour Bluff are getting a new opportunity to earn college credit towards a degree.
It's a new partnership between the Flour Bluff ISD and Del Mar College called the Flour Bluff High School Viking Academy.
It was unveiled this morning and gives students the opportunity to earn 42 credits towards an associate's degree while they complete their high school diploma.
“What we're offering now is different,” Del Mar College president Mark Escamilla said. “We've had a long- standing partnership with the high school for dual credit. What we're doing today is strengthening it,”
Ninth and 10th graders will receive instruction at the high school, while junior and seniors will be transported to Del Mar’s East Campus to experience the collegiate atmosphere.
The program is set to begin this fall.
