A special called meeting of the CCISD school board today includes discussion of possible teacher pay raises.

Those pay raises were expected to be discussed during a budget workshop portion of the meeting.

If the current proposal is approved, teachers could receive a 3.5 to 4 percent raise, based on experience.

Non-administrative employees would get a 3 percent bump, and everyone gets a 1 percent stipend based on salary.

The president of the local American Federation of Teachers says the pay raises being considered by CCISD school board trustees is too low.

We'll have more on this story tonight on KRIS 6 News.
