Ella Maldonado wins Petty Elementary School Spelling Bee

TAFT, Texas — Ella Maldonado claimed the Woodroe Petty Elementary School Spelling Bee in Taft this morning.

Maldonado defeated 31 other challengers from the second to the fifth grade to win the school championship. Michael Hiracheta finished second and Mia Torres was third in the schoolwide competition.
