CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — An elderly woman who was involved in a family brawl in her home has died.

The incident happened last night at a home on the 400 block of Stages Drive near Oso Golf Course.

According to police, a 45-year-old woman went to the home of a 78-year-old female relative. The two then got into a disturbance. According to Lt. Michael Peña, the 45-year-old left the residence when the elderly woman left to a neighbors to call 911.

The medical examiner said the victim was Barbara Grayeda. They are unsure of the cause of her death.

Officers arrived on the scene around 7 p.m. and found the elderly woman unresponsive. CPR was performed then she was transported to CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline where she later died.

Charges have not been filed against the 45-year-old woman.

Lt. Pena said they are not revealing the relationship between the 45-year old woman and the victim at this time.
