JIM WELLS COUNTY, Texas — A Jim Wells County K-9 Unit stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Oct. 30.
While the driver was being interviewed, the officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and told the driver he was going to search the vehicle. While searching, he noticed some residue where the driver was sitting and was able to find a suitcase in the vehicle’s trunk.
Inside the suitcase was 20 vacuum sealed bags of marijuana totaling 20 pounds. The driver was arrested for “Delivery of Marijuana Less Than or Equal to 5 Pounds but Less Than 50 Pounds”.
