CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — UPDATE: A Carrizo Springs woman has died after DPS troopers say she drove into a tour bus in Live Oak county.
The accident happened just after 11:30 last night on FM 624 and U.S. Hwy. 59, southwest of George West.
According to DPS, a woman driving a Ford Fusion was on U.S. 59 when the 33-year-old woman ran a stop sign and hit the chartered bus crossing the intersection.
She died at the scene.
Her 9-year-old passenger was airlifted to Driscoll Children's Hospital with serious injuries.
Two people in the bus were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
There's no word yet on what caused the woman to run the stop sign.
ORIGINAL: The Live Oak Sheriff's Office and DPS state troopers are investigating an accident that took place overnight at FM 624 and Highway 59, between Freer and George West.
The total number of people involved in the collision, and the extent of their injuries currently is unknown.
The Live Oak Sheriff's Department could only confirm that the accident involved a bus and a car, and referred KRIS 6 News to the Department of Public Safety for the report.
