SAN ANTONIO, Tx. — It was over from the word go. The Miller Bucs silenced any and all doubters this week with a blowout win over the Southwest Dragons in the Alamodome.
The final score was Miller 56, Southwest 6.
Andrew Body and the offense looked like its normal self after a few slow starts over the course of the past month. The Bucs scored on each and every drive in the first half, Body kicked the scoring off with a touchdown pass to senior receiver Ralph Rodriguez.
The Bucs took a commanding 42-0 lead into the locker room at half and the team did not look back from there.
The defense was dominant from whistle to whistle. Ezekiel Moya had two interceptions while the team forced four Southwest turnovers in total.
Head Coach Justen Evans pulled Body after three quarters that saw the junior quarterback rack up 292 yards through the air.
This victory marks the 6th time the Bucs have won 12 games in a season. The first time since 1963. They will play the winner of the Veterans Memorial vs. SA Veterans Memorial game this Saturday. That game is at 2 p.m. at Buc Stadium.
