CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Court was in session today - but it was in a rather unusual place.
Judge Missy Medary and Judge David Stith held court today inside the gym at Moody High School. Students were on hand to witness the proceedings. This was for an event called "Courts in the Classroom,”
The goal is to inspire students to pursue a career in the law. It's also to remind them of the dangers of committing a crime.
One inmate spoke to the high schoolers about the wrong decisions drugs caused him to make, and the importance of just saying no.
“If I could go back, you know, and just say no,” he said. “You know that one time, I would. I would do anything to go back and get my life back. You all have that choice to say no.”
The judges tell us they would like to expand this "Courts in the Classroom" program to other campuses in the area.
