Finally tonight --- a memorable New Year's Eve for a Corpus Christi woman.
She welcomed a brand-new baby girl: The first Corpus Christi baby of the new year -- and new decade -- was born just a few hours after midnight.
Little Gianna Eubanks wasn't due until Jan. 9, but gave her mom a new year's surprise.
Brenna Eubanks said she was at home alone about to take a bath, when the unexpected happened.
"The cramp came a little more," said Brenna Eubanks. "I stood up to call somebody because i was home alone. Next thing you know, my water broke and two minutes later she came. Like, in the bathtub."
After a quick call to 911, Brenna and baby were on their way to Spohn South.
Gianna's official time of birth is listed as 4:28 a.m.
The first baby of 2020 is a healthy one -- 7 lbs. 5 ozs. and 20 inches long
In a few days, she'll head home to join an 8-year-old brother and 3-year-old sister.
Congratulations to the Eubanks family.
