CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Coffee Waves will be opening its door for a few hours on Friday to anyone who needs a warm place.

They will also provide a cup of coffee and pastries on a pay-what-you-can basis that is limited to one per person.

Of the company's three Coastal Bend locations, it will be opening its South Alameda coffee shop.

"(We) are only able to provide a small amount of coffee due to their low water pressure, but they are happy just trying to support those in need," said Steven Harrison, a Coffee Waves manager.

“We’ve had low water pressure and we’re able to get here early enough in the morning to get ahead of it try to make as much coffee as we can," Harrison said. "To try to get as much hot water as we can to try and support whoever shows up that day."

He also added they have had a water pipe burst and lost power for a few hours earlier this week but they have powered through.

If you choose to stop, Coffee Waves' drive-thru and dine-in will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.

In addition, if you take milk with your coffee, they will only be serving almond milk, oat milk, or soy milk.
