CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — According to the National Weather Service, the Corpus Christi area will experience several hours of at or below freezing temperatures tonight and into Friday morning.
The City continues operating two short-term shelters for those in need of refuge during the day and overnight. Short term shelters will close Saturday, February 20 at 10 am.
One is at Del Mar College East and the second is at the FEMA Dome in Calallen. Located across the community are a total of seven warming centers provided by the City as a place for individuals to stay warm.
Water customers need to protect all exterior or exposed water pipes with insulation of any kind. Dripping faucets also could prevent water pipes from freezing.
Dripping-faucets should be turned off when temperatures are safely above freezing to conserve water.
Customers who need to shut off their water but are unable to locate the service main shut-off valve can email requests directly for main shut-offs only.

Pets should be brought in overnight to protect them from extreme elements of tonight’s freeze.
