CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend has some amazing estuaries.

The Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program and the Coastal Bend Bays Foundation are celebrating National Estuaries Week by organizing a clean up of the Packery Flats.

Their event pages says, "We will be cleaning trash and harmful debris from the tidal flats and marsh habitats along two miles of Highway 361."

More specifically, the cleanups will start in three spots along Highway 361: Packery Bridge, Packery Flats Parking Lot, and Kates Hole Access Parking Lot.

This is the second year in a row they have organized this cleanup, and last year they cleaned up quite a bit of trash.

"We cleaned up over 2,000 pounds of trash from sensitive habitats at this clean up last year," their post says.

The cleanup takes place on September 21 from 9 am to noon.
