CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Corpus Christi police are looking for one suspect in connection with a shooting that happened at the Corpus Christi Trade Center.

The shooting happened around 3 p.m. on Sunday outside of the Trade Center.

Corpus Christi Police Department Lt. Carl Williams said the victim was walking towards the entrance of the Trade Center when a blue Ford Mustang being driven by a male suspect approached two victims.

The suspect pulled out a gun, and demanded property. One of the victims was shot in the leg. The victim was transported to a hospital while the armed suspect fled the scene. Police didn't say what property the suspect took.

When police arrived at the scene, a passerby had taken off his belt and made a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, and saving the victim's life.

"We do have some good video from the Trade Center cameras here, and we got some leads, so we are following up," Williams said.

Police at the scene said it does appear to be a random crime.

The suspect, so far, faces an armed robbery charge and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Corpus Christi police ask if you know the suspect who took part in this shooting, you're encouraged to call Crimestoppers at (361) 888-TIPS.
