COPRUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi police have identified 26-year-old Geoffrey Bucher as responsible for a deadly hit-and-run crash early Monday morning.
Police say the accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Holly Road near Lakeview Drive. The police report for the incident states that Geoffrey's co-worker called dispatch at 3:17 a.m. saying that he was a passenger in the hit-and-run incident, and that his co-worker accidentally hit the victim and refused to stop.
The report also states that around 4:03 a.m. Geoffrey's brother called and said that his brother came home and said that he was involved in a traffic accident.
The police report indicated that officers said that they arrived at Bucher's apartment, noticing he had red, watery, droopy eyes and his breath had a faint smell of alcohol. Police found Bucher's car with extensive damage to the windshield and front passenger side. The roof of the passenger side was also caved in from impact.
Officers say the victim was a man, around 60-years-old who was riding a bike when he was hit and killed.
