CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi police say distracted driving was the cause of an SUV hitting a bicyclist late Tuesday night.
The crash happened about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 5500 block of South Alameda Street near Ennis Joslin.
Police say the woman was distracted and struck the bicyclist who was on the road.
The cyclist was transported to Bay Area Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the bicycle was too well lit to not be seen by the driver of the SUV.
They added she will receive a ticket for distracted driving.
