A 14-year old boy has been transported to Driscoll Children's Hospital after being hit by a car.
According to officers at the scene, around 1pm, the boy and his mother were walking toward a bus stop on the 3700 block of Staples when he realized he left left his backpack at a convenience store across the street.
Officers say the boy turned back and ran in front of a car approaching Doddridge Street. The car hit the boy who suffered from several scrapes on his back. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver wasn't cited because the boy was not in a crosswalk.
