CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man has been hospitalized with self-inflicted wounds after he was served with a warrant Tuesday morning by Nueces County Sheriff Deputies at the Copper Ridge Apartments, 6632 S. Staples.

Sheriff John Hooper said the shooting occurred after the man was confronted. He is being treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Hooper said the warrant was for aggravated robbery. The shooting was a suicide attempt and not an accident, Hooper said.
