CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — An extraordinary visitor stopped by the Ronald McDonald House Thursday.

Houston Astros legend Jeff Bagwell stopped by over at the non-profit facility in the 3400 blocks of Ft. Worth Street and decided to play catch with a young fan.

The baseball "Hall of Famer" is the headliner at Thursday night's "Casa de Amor Fundraiser," proceeds go to the charity to help children and families in need.

The facility houses and provides resources for families traveling to "Driscoll Children's Hospital" for their child's healthcare needs.

Bagwell says making appearances like this is one of his favorite post-baseball ventures.

"That's what we're here for. As much as we are entertainers, and we play a game. But if we can bring joy to a family, then we are doing something really special. Not just playing baseball," Bagwell said.

"Casa de Amor" is taking place tonight at the Ortiz Center.
