Arrest made in connection with weekend homicide on Leopard

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 34-year-old woman is in jail in connection with a murder that took place Saturday in the 4800 block of Leopard.

Corpus Christi police said Stephanie Ysassi is in Nueces County Jail under bonds totaling $1 million.

Police said she has been jailed in connection with an incident that took place approximately 5:30 a.m. after police were dispatched for a man down in a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found a deceased 40-year-old male slumped over the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began to investigate this unattended death.

At 5:30 p.m., an officer was flagged down for a disturbance at 2200 Leopard where he contacted Ysassi. She was placed into custody for the outstanding murder warrant and transported to the City Detention Center.

Detectives with the Homicide Section continue to investigate the homicide and are asking for assistance from the public.
