ARANSAS PASS. TEXAS — Detectives with the Aransas Pass Police Department are trying to determine the identity of a driver following a possible "Stranger Danger" incident.

It happened Tuesday morning near the area of Victory and McMullen Lane in Aransas Pass, Texas.

Police said a person dialed 911 after noticing a newer black truck being driven by a white male started honking at a female child. The person calling 911 told dispatchers the white suspect motioned to the female child to go to him while also honking at the child.

Investigators said there was no further communication between the child and male.

The person calling 911 tried to catch up with the truck but was not able to get any further identifiers on it.

APPD officers said during the time of the event, there was an officer in the area along with three adult school staff monitoring students.

Police are asking parents to be vigilant as they discuss walking safety with their children.

Officers advised its best to walk in groups and to make sure parents and children are very familiar with their route.
