ARANSAS PASS, Texas — The Aransas Pass Police Department is asking for help identifying a toolbox that held the body of a 29-year-old woman found on Tuesday.
Police ask if you have seen the following toolbox or know who it belongs to report to them. Your assistance is requested.
The body of Rebecca Anne Maloney, 29, of Rockport, was found inside the toolbox.
Tuesday just before 6 p.m. Police were sent to Rail Road Street where a witness reported a toolbox with a deceased body inside.
Police inspected the toolbox and confirmed there was a female body inside.
Aransas Pass police have no leads or suspects in the murder of Maloney.
Police say Maloney's family hadn't seen her in several days.
In an information release from the Aransas Pass Police department, they state “the female had been dead for at least several hours.” They also say she had obvious signs of injuries on her body.
The family of Maloney came forward to police with concerns about their missing relative. They were able to identify the body.
Respondents can earn a cash reward of up to $1,000 if they help solve the case.
