ARANSAS PASS, Texas — The Aransas Pass ISD hosted its annual state of the city and school luncheon today at the Aransas Pass Civic Center.
The meeting began with a follow-up on the impacts of Hurricane Harvey as it related to FEMA funding and grants.
Aransas Pass ISD Superintendent Cara Cooke says they are looking into new additions to school campuses and also discussing a topic on the top of every parent's mind: school security.
"I'll be talking to them about all the safety measures that we have in place,” Cooke said. “And what that looks like and what we're still working on to ensure the safety of our staff and our students each and every day."
The 2016 bond for $17.9 million dollars is helping with the school’s development.
That includes progress made on Faulk Elementary, which is almost 100 percent complete and will have its grand opening in a few weeks.
