CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Red Cross is looking for volunteers.
It hopes to have a group of 700 people ready to help support communities after a disaster.
And if you're not keen on being deployed to a disaster scene, they also need volunteers who can help virtually.
Spokesmen say this new twist to volunteering is part of the agency's process of adapting to new norms.
If you're interested in volunteering, just contact the American Red Cross.
"We've already gone through a disaster in North Texas, in this environment, where we had tornadoes go through there,” Alex Garcia, executive director of the American Red Cross of the Coastal Bend, said. “We had over 250 families affected and we had to figure out to do it and be COVID compliant."
And don't worry. Volunteers will be thoroughly trained before answering a call for help.
