Thousands in the Bay Area were without power for about two hours Wednesday afternoon before power was restored about 4:20 p.m.
About 3,400 customers were affected, AEP officials said.
Crews were dispatched around 3 p.m. to a southside station.
AEP says that's where they are showing a malfunction that governs breakers went down at the power substation by Staples and Everhart. That facility serves the midtown area.
The outage was caused by the wind, AEP officials said.
