Several students at Adkins Middle School are recovering after coming in contact with pepper spray.
Corpus Christi Independent School District Police Chief Kirby Warnke said a student sprayed pepper spray on the cafeteria floor. The spray quickly went airborne affecting several students.
Several parents have contacted KRIS Communications saying their students are complaining of eye irritation and respiratory issues, and have rushed to the campus to pick up their children.
"We are actively investigating and will take appropriate action," Warnke said. "If it's determined he committed a crime, he will be detained."
