A teen riding his bike to school hit by Suburban driver

POLICE SAY THE DRIVER WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION WHEN SHE HIT THE BOY ON HIS BIKE. — A teen heading to school was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a Suburban.

The boy, possibly 15 or 16 years old, was riding his bike on the 6200 block of Weber Road just after 8:30 a.m. near Sanders Elementary School.

According to Corpus Christi Police Officer Jacob De La Rosa, the boy was crossing Wickersham Street when the driver, who wasn't paying attention, hit him.

The teen walked away with some cuts and bruises and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the driver will be ticketed for failure to yield right of way to a stop sign.
