A few of our local officers attended the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington DC.

It is National Police Week. It has been around since the 60’s and it is a time for Officers to be recognized for their public service and memorialize fallen comrades.

The five officers took part in a touching candlelight vigil on the Washington Monument lawn.

“It was an honor to be a part of the National Police Officers Memorial Service today in Washington DC.” they shared on their Facebook page, “The candlelight vigil was breathtaking and something we will NEVER FORGET.”

According to the National Law Officers Memorial Fund website, “Founded in 1984, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is dedicated to telling the story of American Law Enforcement and making it safer for those who serve. A nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in Washington, DC, the Memorial Fund built and continues to maintain the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial—the nation’s monument to law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.”
