If you or someone you know is in need of counseling there are free services available.
TAMUCC has teamed up with the Garcia Arts and Education Center located on Ayers Street.
Graduate and doctoral students working towards becoming counselors see patients, while a professor with the university oversees each student.
Services are for children ages 5 and up, families or groups.
“You can go to counseling for anything,” doctoral student Nora Maza said. “If you are going through something in your life even for a temporary period and you just want somebody to kind of talk about it with, maybe it doesn’t seem that large it’s still important to have that person to talk to.”
You will need to schedule an appointment in order to be seen by a student-counselor.
