Students at Incarnate Word Academy got an important lesson on the dangers of drinking and driving and distracted driving.
Volunteers take part in a dramatic re-enactment of a crash to show how dangerous it is to text while driving or be under the influence of alcohol.
It’s all part of the Shattered Dreams Program.
In Tuesday’s scenario, one teen was texting and driving, another was drunk and the third driver was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The students were taken to hospitals, funeral homes and court.
Wednesday students will take part in mock funerals.
The students will read good-bye letters and a parent who lost a child to a drunk driver will talk with them.
