Just as road construction on one south side project is wrapping up, another round of work is getting ready to start.

Traffic is slowly returning to normal on Corona Drive between Flynn Parkway and Everhart Road.

Work crews are putting the finishing touches on a Bond 2014 project that improved street lights, storm drainage and bicycle lanes.

City officials say construction crews should be done near the beginning of May.

Right on the heels of the Corona Drive construction, work is set to begin on Everhart Road, between South Padre Island Drive and Holly Road.

The city says bids are currently being taken for the project to repair road conditions on Everhart, install new sidewalks and street lights, and improve city utility services.

Construction on the 18-month project is expected to begin in July.
