Corpus Christi police say two teens are facing serious charges after they were arrested for armed robbery.

The incident happened in the 4400 block of Staples Street near King High School around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to a police report, two teens, 14 and 16-year-old, walked up to a man sitting inside his vehicle while he was on his cell phone. The victim said the two teens walked up to his car, one of them pulled out a handgun, and both asked for his wallet.

After both fled the scene on foot, the victim called 911. Officers arrived at the location and noticed the buildings around the area had multiple security cameras.

After reviewing the video, officers were able to get a description of both teens.

An officer saw the suspects near Alameda and Chase Drive and took both into custody, according to Senior Officer Travis Pace, with the Corpus Christi police department.

Both teens were charged with aggravated robbery. They were transported to Nueces County Juvenile Center.
