STX Beef hoping to hire 100 employees during job fair

STX Beef is holding a job fair today, in hopes of hiring 100 people.

STX Beef purchased Kane Beef on February 28th. The company has 500 employees but needs addition workers for their production, fabrication and quality control departments. They also need employees to work the loading docks and freezers.

STX Beef recruiter Joe Rodriguez said the starting pay is $10 an hour but once employees are certified, they can make up to $16.75 an hour.

The job fair is being held at the Texas  Beef hiring event is being held at the Workforce Solutions Office at 520 North Staples Street. It runs through 5 p.m but Rodriguez said people can also apply at the STX Beef Plant at 9001 Leopard Street. Recruiters will be in the office for the rest of the week from 9am to 5pm.

“I do encourage anyone looking for a job to go out and visit us. We’re so excited with STX beef now on board to get all these positions filled up again,” Rodriguez added.

Rodriguez said STX Beef offers a good benefit plan that includes health and dental insurance along with a 401K plan.
