The Tuloso-Midway community was shocked after a rollover crash claimed the life of a high school senior and injured four other students this weekend.
Those five teens attended Tuloso-Midway High School, all are seniors and the news of the accident has shaken the entire community there.
18-year-old Justin Franco was driving the vehicle that crashed, he did not survive. The other four boys remain in the hospital and are expected to be okay.
Monday, we spoke with staff at TMISD who say the community is really hurting for the teens involved and their families, especially as graduation nears.
Interim Superintendent Rodney Sumner said, “We’re not just going to get over this in a day it’s going to take a while especially with graduation just several months down the road and one of those that would be walking across the stage is not going to be able to do that.”
There will be a benefit on Saturday, March 16 to help the families of the five boys.
That will be held at TMHS, in the visitor parking lot near the stadium. It begins at 11 am until 3 pm. All money raised will help the families.
