Corpus Christi police say they had to shut down the westbound lanes of the JFK Causeway due to a crash.
The crash happened around 6:10 p.m. Sunday. Investigators say a male driver, believed to be in his sixties, flipped his vehicle. The driver was temporarily pinned and first responders were able to get him out.
He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Police also said he had a female passenger was also in the car at the time of the crash.
Because of the nature of the crash, Senior Officer Travis Pace, with the Corpus Christ police department, says the westbound lanes of the JFK Causeway had to be shut down.
After clearing the accident scene, the JFK Causeway was reopened around 7:15 p.m. Sunday.
The JFK Causeway westbound has been reopened. Thank you for your patience and understanding. PIO PACE
