A K-9 assigned to the Nueces County District Attorney’s Criminal Interdiction Unit has contributed to the seizure of suspected drugs and drug money.
According to Nueces County DA Mark Gonzalez, K-9 Storm was called out to assist in a vehicle inspection in late January after a special investigator located a hidden compartment inside of a vehicle.
Storm alerted to the compartment in the rear hatch of the vehicle, resulting in agents seizing approximately $84,000.
Gonzalez says Storm was called out again to assist officers in a vehicle search last week. Inspection of the vehicle led to the dog’s discovery of 42 pounds of crystal methamphetamine hidden inside of a gas cylinder tank.
