New data released proves flu cases skyrocketing in Nueces County

New data released from the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Health Department shows the flu is getting worse in Nueces County.

The health department monitors the number of flu cases in Nueces County. According to its latest Nueces County Surveillance of Flu Illnesses report, 920 flu cases were reported in the week ending on February 23. That’s compared to 687 flu cases reported in the week prior.

Meanwhile, there’s also been a slight increase in number of flu-like illnesses. The report states in the week ending on February 16, there were 743 flu-like illnesses reported. There were 857 flu-like illnesses reported the following week, which ended on February 23rd.
