Man killed in park shooting identified

A 20-year-old man was killed during a shooting near Glen Arbor Park Sunday night, according to officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department.

The medical examiner has identified the victim as Parris Tipton from Corpus Christi. He died of a gunshot wound. Officers are still searching for the person responsible.

The shooting happened around 6:40 p.m. Sunday near an apartment complex in the 5800 block of Curtis Clark Drive.

The man was rushed to the hospital where he died.

“Right now detectives and officers are working the area they believe that the shooting did occur here in the park and they are trying to develop suspects and to get these individuals into custody that committed this crime,” Senior Officer Travis Pace with the Corpus Christi police department said.
