A man is in critical condition after being thrown from his vehicle during a wreck. Airline Road between Holly Road and Meadowvista Drive is also closed in both directions until further notice due to the accident.
The crash happened just after 2 a.m. on the 2100 block of Airline near Holly Road. The driver lost control of his vehicle and hit a pole, according to officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department. The pole was damaged and lines were left strung across the road.
“The single occupant, which is the male driver, was ejected from the car. He was transported and is now in critical condition,” Lt. Maria Huerta-Garcia said.
Investigators are trying to determine whether alcohol was a factor in the accident. Avoid the area while crews work to fix the utility pole and lines.
