Scam artists are targeting residents in Kleberg County today.
According to Better Business Bureau Regional Director Kelly Trevino, several people in Kleberg County have received calls today stating that if they didn’t respond to a jury summons to appear in federal court, they would be facing two misdemeanors.
The caller then offers them a deal to take care of their fines over the phone by providing them with credit-card information.
According to Trevino, Kleberg County Sheriff’s Department has received several calls.
KRIS 6 News has called the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Department for more information, but they have yet to respond.
