Corpus Christi’s Polar Bear Plunge benefits ALS

On New Year’s Day, you can take a dip into the Corpus Christi Bay for the fourth annual Polar Bear Plunge.

The event benefits the ALS Therapy Development Institute and has raised nearly $40,000.

The plunge will take place on North Beach by Fajitaville begin at 11:00 a.m. The mascot and banner will be available for photo ops and polar bear hats and mittens will be sold with 100% of the proceeds going to ALS TDI. 

At 11:15 a.m., participants can warm up on the beach walk with the Corpus Christi Roadrunners. You don’t have to be a Roadrunners member to warm up, but you can join here. 

The plunge will start at 12:00 p.m., and following your dip into the water you can warm up inside Fajitaville.
