Barnes and Noble is looking to make spirits bright this season during its annual Holiday Book Drive.

Now through Dec. 24, customers can visit Barnes and Noble bookstore to donate children’s books, toys and other items in the store.

Barnes and Noble will distribute them to the children in Family & Youth Services Bureau’s CASA of the Coastal Bend.

Shoppers are invited to participate in the holiday drive by donating one of their favorite books or by selecting one from the curated suggestions that can be found near all Barnes and Noble checkouts.

Festive options customers can consider donating include holiday classics, such as Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” and family favorite “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

Every week CASA gathers the donations from the week before, separating the books by age groups so that their volunteers can pick out books for their CASA kids.  In a short amount of time,  they have already received more than 1,600 books.

This annual holiday book drive is a special way for communities to come together while spreading love and kindness to families in need during the holidays.

Barnes and Noble  collected approximately 1.6 million books during its Holiday Book Drive program that were  then donated to local charities across the country that provide services to children.

All donations must be purchased, as new, from Barnes and Noble.
