A going away party was held at the Nueces County Courthouse this morning for retiring Judge Loyd Neal.
Neal is retiring at the end of the year, and at his party today, people he worked with over the years stopped by to share memories and wish him well.
When asked what his plans are in retirement, Neal sys he’s not quite sure yet.
“Well, we don’t have many plans,” Neal said. “I have a few health issues I’ve got to get over and sort of adjust not having to go to the courthouse every day but we’ll work it out, it’ll be fine.”
Barbara Canales will take over as Nueces County Judge following Neal’s retirement.
