Del Mar students collect gifts for foster children

Students at Del Mar College are helping make sure no child goes without a gift this holiday season.

Participants in the Early Childhood Program at Del Mar purchased duffel bags from “Together We Rise,” an organization that helps foster children. Those bags were filled with necessities and toys that were donated by the community.

Foster Angels of South Texas picked up the bags Wednesday, which are called “Sweet Cases.”

“It’s so sweet just because of the fact that these kids don’t have things of their own, and it’s perfect timing for the holidays, that not only are they getting necessities that they need but also something special,” Nicole White with the Childhood Club at Del Mar College said.

40 cases were collected for foster children in the area this year.
