Electrical wiring may have started a fire at a westside apartment complex.
Fire investigators say the fire was kindled in a wall between the first floor and the second floor at the Navigation Pointe Apartments at 901 S. Navigation around 7 a.m.
Crews had to shut off power to the building, leading to an evacuation of the premises. According to Corpurs Christi Fire Department Captain Jeff Durrwachter, it was a small fire and only two or three units were affected. Most of the damage occurred outside the building.
Investigators say they are looking into what caused the fire, but they speculate it wasn’t started intentionally.
